Twin earthquakes rocked central Italy on October 26, 2016 -- the second registering at a magnitude of 6.0 -- in the same region struck in August by a devastating tremor that killed nearly 300 people.

Bruxelles – Via libera del Consiglio dei rappresentanti permanenti dell’Ue (Coreper) alla proposta della Commissione Ue di aiutare la ricostruzione delle Regioni italiane colpite dal terremoto nel 2016. Con un emendamento al bilancio 2017 vengono mobilizzati 1,2 miliardi di euro del fondo di solidarietà europeo per Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche e Umbria. Con un altro emendamento il Coreper ha anche approvato un sostegno ulteriore di 500 milioni di euro per l’iniziativa contro la disoccupazione giovanile.
